The Web Design and Development Program at Hawkeye Community College provides students with the knowledge and skills to plan and construct Internet sites that are enabled for e-commerce. Students learn the skills needed to design, implement, test, and troubleshoot web site construction and ecommerce applications. They also learn the techniques needed to incorporate multi-media into a web site. Students gain hands-on experience from the general IT knowledge area in hardware, operating systems, and networking. Students learn multiple web programming languages, database applications, and e-commerce strategies focused on “customer enabled” and “data driven” web sites.
